2018 Moonlight Run at Fox Hills FAQ

SAFETY: The Moonlight Run at Fox Hills is an evening event.  For safety, it is highly suggested that all runners and walkers wear HEADLAMPS in the case of darker areas on the course.

General Questions:

What do I get for my entry fee?

All participants in the Moonlight Run at Fox Hills will receive a 100% awesome soft cotton UNISEX tee shirt, glow in the dark finisher medal, and the post-race food buffet.  Drinks (in addition to bottled water on the course) will include beer, wine, or pop. There will be one drink ticket on your race bib.  Age group awards are presented for the 10K and 5K event for males and females in the top three places in the age groups 10-14 years, 15-19 years, 20-24 years, 25-29 years, 30-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years and 75+ years.

Drink tickets –  You are required to be at least 21 years of age and have your driver license ID & race bib ready to enter our secured beer/wine area.

Are there entry limits for the race?

Yes…

The 10K is limited to 500.  The 5K Run/Walk is limited to 1,500.  

What are the age limits for the races?

There are no age limits. We encourage participants of all ages to join us.

Is the race events walker friendly?

Yes, we will have plenty of participants that will walk. If you plan to walk the race, we do require that you line up at the back of the race corral so as not to impede the faster runners.

Are there refunds if cannot attend? Can someone else run with my bib no?

NO REFUNDS; ONLY TRANSFERS ALLOWED TO ANOTHER PERSON BEFORE OUR ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES!

Are pet dogs, baby joggers, or strollers allowed during the race?

No pets of any kind are allowed at this event!

In addition, baby joggers and strollers also ARE NOT ALLOWED at this event.

Are headphones (iPods, mp3 players, etc) allowed during the race?

Headphones are allowed for any runner however, we do recommend that runners use extreme precaution when using headphones during the race event for safety reasons.

When is the last day to register?

The last day to register “online” is Thursday, September 20th by 11:00 pm EST.

Packet Pick Up:

How will I receive my race packet?

You must pick up your race packet before the event. We will not mail race packets.

Saturday, September 22nd from 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM.  CASH OR CHECK ONLY.

Where can I park?

Parking will be available onsite at Fox Hills (limited to 600 vehicle spaces), and there will be a FREE shuttle bus option.

Shuttle Buses: starting at 5:00 PM from Troy Design and Manufacturing (TDM) parking lot at 14425 Sheldon Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170 ( SEE MAP HERE ) (limited to 1,500 cars) to/from Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center.  Shuttle bus service will be stopped at 9:15 PM.  All patrons in line to load at that time will be transported to the remote parking however patrons arriving at the shuttle loading zone after 9:15 PM may not have bus transportation available.

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

Yes.

Race Information:

Can I register on race day?

Do you accept credit cards for registration race day?

No, cash or check only.

Will there be water stations?

Yes.  At the Starting line, on the course, and at the finish line.

Will there be medical aid stations?

There will be a medical first aid tent at the start/finish area.

Will there be bathrooms/portable toilets available?

There will be bathrooms at the club house plus portable toilets.

Where can we park for the event and are there shuttle buses?

Where are start/finish lines and the event start times?

THE FINISH LINE SHUTS DOWN AT 8:45 P.M.  Start and Finish lines are at Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center.  The 10K starts at 6:30 pm, and the 5K at 6:45 pm.

What times do the courses close?

THE FINISH LINE SHUTS DOWN AT 8:15 P.M.

B-Tag chip timing?

Runners will need to wear Race Bib on their front – shirt/ jacket/ pants – to be scored in the event (ChronoTrack B-tag is on the bib).

Awards:

Age Group Awards?

Age group awards are presented for the 10K and 5K events for males and females in the top three places in the age groups 10-14 years, 15-19 years, 20-24 years, 25-29 years, 30-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years and 75+ years.  Awards will be given out at the Awards tent near the Start/Finish line at 8:15 PM. If you think you have won an award, please check at the Awards tent. If you are unable to wait for the official results and pick up your award on race day, you may have a friend pick it up or pay to have it shipped.
